Exclamation mark
From Wittypedia
An exclamation mark is the go faster stripe of the written word, add it to any jumble of letters and it turns from a dull ponderous thing to a device of dynamic beauty. Named for its inventor, Terry M Masterson, the middle initial being for Mark (nobody wanted an exclamation terry). Terry got the idea when a ball hit him on the head, closely followed by stick. If he hadn't been spending his lunchtimes in a park always full of overly happy people walking and entertaining their dogs he might never have thought of it. After several weeks in a coma he suddenly sat bolt upright, jumped out of bed, knocking over his saline drip, and ran half naked to the nearest patent office. Breathlessly describing his idea to the octagenerian behind the desk he still gets paid 7p (about 23 US cents) for every exclamation mark used. He spends his time counting his money and having poets strung up above the wrought iron gates of his gloriously appointed mansion atop a supposedly haunted hill.Space | Exclamation mark | Colon | * | @
