New zealand
From Wittypedia
New Zealand was built when Old Zealand sank without trace 50 years ago. Known as the 'land of the long white cloud' this is believed to be an overly poetic way of saying it's often cold and rainy. There are 4 sheep for every person in New Zealand, The sheep are allocated to the person at birth and imprint quickly, often becoming fiercely loyal to their new owners. There exists a sheep opt-out clause where a person can decide not to take the sheep - for example, if they are going travelling or are allergic to wool. However, this is frowned upon because it then leaves somebody else with 8 sheep - which is fine if you live in the country but a real bugger when trying to find an inner-city apartment.
The New Zealand sporting emblem is the fern. This is because the fern always wins at interflora sportsdays due to an impressive training regime it undertakes for 9 months of the year at high altitude in the himalayas.
