Desert as Solar Panel

(1). Water is heated inside a thinish pipe which runs under the sand across the desert.

(2). Some water is hotter, so it trys to go up, so we take its heat and drop it back down (3).

(4). Electricity, drawn from turbine.

Desert as Hydraulic Pump for Power

(1). Water is heated inside a thinish pipe which runs under the sand across the desert.

(2). By day water is hotter, so it pushes the hydraulics out. By night its cooler so pulls the hydraulic back.
